Hazrat Bilal (RA) ~ Download Complete Lecture Here

“Each one is a shining brilliant star from the vast ‘Galaxy of Sahaba R.A’ and a great source of inspiration to us all!” (Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB)

An excellent continuation of discussions on the ‘Shining Stars’ …

A Sahabi, famous even amongst the young of the Ummat of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam … A Sahabi that we are all reminded of every single day of our lives … Whenever the call of Adhaan is given, 5 times a day, then a person is automatically taken back to none other than Bilal R.A and the Musjid of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam …

When we hear the Adhaan, what respect do we have for it? We overlook the Muadhin and ignore them … It is mentioned that on the day of Qiyamah, the Muadhin’s will have the longest necks (meaning they would be outstanding) … They will be honored in the sight of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala … They will be shown special respect on the day of Qiyamah … At any given time in any part of the world there is a Muadhin calling out Adhaan. This no low task but rather a privilege because a Muadhin is selected by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala …

In the discourses of the life of Bilal R.A, one is transported to the era of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam and is reminded of the very origin of the Adhaan and the ‘Muadhin’ of Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Bilal R.A was extremely fortunate that he had been given specific glad tidings of Jannah … Under all afflictions, Bilal (RA) would exclaim:-

‘Ahad’ ~ The One (Allah) … ‘Ahad’ ~ The One (Allah)…

It is reported from Abu Hurairah : At the time of the Fajr prayer Rasullulah Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam asked Bilal RA, “Tell me of the best deed you did after embracing Islam, for I heard your footsteps in front of me in Paradise.” Bilal RA replied, “I did not do anything worth mentioning except that whenever I performed ablution during the day or night, I prayed after that ablution as much as was written for me.”

In another narration it is related that he said, “Whenever my whudhu is broken I make new whudhu and pray two raka’ats.”

(Bukhari, Muslim, Musnad Ahmad)

This heart that we have, full of Hawaa and Hirs (longing and desire), greed, temptations … This heart that has been immersed in heedlessness, negligence, Ghaafil of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala

Oh Allah! Change this heart of mines!

The Dunya of this heart … Oh Allah! Change this heart! Oh my Allah! Have Fadl upon me … Change my condition! … How long am I going to stay in Sin! How long am I going to pass my life in sin and vice and evil …

Oh Allah! Change my path! Change my direction!

It must be such that from now on …

With every heartbeat of mines, I must hear ‘Allah’ ‘Allah’ ‘Allah’!

I must become ecstatic upon that!

Oh Allah! I am going to sacrifice all these pleasures of mines. And in lieu of that, Oh Allah! Give me your Love!

I will move my sight, my glance away from everybody besides you… and I will live now, just for Your sake!

Everything! My living, my dying must be only for Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala … Oh Allah! I want to remember you continuously! Not just for a day and then back to heedlessness … Oh Allah! I have made up my mind! I have made up my mind! I am going to make this Mujahada now! Ya Allah, You make it Sahl (easy) for me!

Oh Allah! Shower your mercy upon me! Change my condition! I’m sitting at your doorstep my Allah! I’m lying at your doorstep with a broken heart! This heart is full of temptations! Now, I am making a sacrifice of these temptations. My heart has been broken, it has been shattered Oh my Allah!

Why should I live in this shattered condition! Oh Allah! This Arzoo (hope/desire) I have … and whatever Umeed (hope/expectation) , all I need now Allah is your Love! This is my Tamanna (desire) now! Oh Allah, listen to my cry, listen to my plea!

Oh my Master, my Guardian, my Protector, my Custodian, make me your true servant! Make me your true servant!

Oh Allah! Change my condition …

Hadith

Hazrat Mu’adh bin Jabal Radiallahu Anhu reported that Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wa Sallam took hold of my hand and said, “By Allah, I love you, Mu’adh, so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer: “Allahumma a’inni ala zikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni ‘ibaadatik (O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner)” . . .

(Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, an-Nasa’i, Ibn Khuzaimah, Ibn Hibban and al-Hakim)

. . . . . . .

We have to make Shukr to Allah for so many bounties. We are alive this morning, we are able to walk, we are able to speak, we are able to eat, we are able to see, we are able to move our limbs … All these are great bounties from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala … We have woken up this morning as Believers! What a great Ni’mat from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. A time will come when a person will sleep at night as a believer but will wake up in the morning as a disbeliever. Allah save us! We should continue to make sincere shukr to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and recite this prescribed Dua everyday …

اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّيْ عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

Allahumma a’inni ala zikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni ‘ibaadatik

The Struggle Against the Nafs! ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

May 22, 2012

بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اَللّهُِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

How can we connect to Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala? How can we purge these hearts of ours from the evil temptations that we have? How can we cleanse our hearts? How can we rid the pride, the jealousy, the enmity, the vengeance, the love for Dunya from our hearts? … And then, focus only on the love of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala? We are living in very challenging times. Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala has sent us into this Dunya which is an examination for us! We are all going through an examination period …

Allah says : Liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu ‘amala – Surat Hud 11:7” ~ ie: Allah tests us to see which one of us is going to excel in good actions.

“Qad aflaha man zakkaha – Ash-Shams 91:9” ~ Indeed, successful is that person who has purified his soul.”

Which one of us is going to be obedient to Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala? Which one of us is going to purify his soul? Until and unless we don’t purify and cleanse this soul of ours, but leave it to accumulate all the filth, dirt and grime, we will find ourselves becoming very distant from Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala’s mercy. We wont enjoy our Ibadaat and that connection with Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala. In fact, we will be searching for something thats missing in our lives.

This is not a one day affair …This is a lifelong struggle! A lifelong Mujahada! What is Mujahada? It is a struggle and battle against our Nafs. Our Nafs entices us, prompts us, invites us, tempts and seduces us and calls out to us. If we succumb to the dictates of our Nafs then we become slaves to our passions and our egos. If we disobey Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala and listen to every command of our Nafs then we will become ‘Slaves to our Nafs’ and not become ‘True Servants’ of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala. Because of not making this Mujahada, one will not be able to purify himself, and when his Nafs will not be purified, then he will not be given the Taufeeq to do good and righteous deeds. And then, with every and any sin, big or small sin, major or minor sin or any temptation, this person will slip very easily. He will not have the spiritual strength to combat his Nafs. Why? Because his ‘spiritual soul’ has become weak…

Hazrat Thanwi RA, who is considered to be a renowned ‘spiritual doctor’ has said in an article entitled ‘Bilaa Mushaqat Islaah’ … We should all aspire to make Islaah of our Nafs (spiritual reformation of our souls). But Islaah without pain, without any toiling, without any difficulty, with enduring any hardship is impossible…This is a dream! Opposing the desires and dictates of our Nafs will cause us difficulty and pain. There is a struggle that will take place. One should fight the dictates of one’s Nafs. He mentions : A newly planted tree will be easily uprooted because the roots are not firm. But a tree which has been planted for years will not be able to be uprooted easily. It will be much more difficult to uproot this tree which has it’s roots embedded deeply in the ground. Similarly, if you don’t resist your Nafs, then the roots of these evil temptations will become implanted very firmly and entrenched and embedded in the soul. Now, to undergo a reformation is going to be much more difficult in comparison to a person who has committed a sin and immediately tries to uproot this evil.

A person who persists in Gunaah (sin), gives in very easily to the temptations of his Nafs. Each one of us requires this Mujahada. Look at all our spiritual problems. Whether you are a learned person, whether you are educated, whether you are an ordinary layman, woman, man, youngster, teacher, doctor … whoever you are! Each one of us have Nafs. We are all trying to make Islaah of our Nafs. And what is required now from us? That we should oppose our Nafs so that the root of our temptations do not become entrenched into our soul!

Many times a person will approach his Shaykh and ask him to make du’aa or to give him some Wazifa so that he can make his Islaah. Well and good, we should ask for du’aa, as they are accepted from the pious. Hazrat Thanwi says : Wazifas and Tawajju have a little bit of effect only after a person has made great effort and struggle against his Nafs. Here, we are lazy to make any effort. We don’t want to undergo this toiling, this pain and this struggle. And then we expect miracles to take place!

How often do we say ‘I am a Hafidh of the Qur’aan but I just cant read it. I don’t know what happens but I just cant read. I go for Salaah sometimes and I just cant enjoy my Salaah. Eventually, I just discard my Salaah. I don’t know whats happening’. This is the effect when we have not followed the diet plan that Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala has given us. On the one hand we are all performing our Salaah, we are attending the Zikr majlis, we are making Du’aa, Taubah, Istighfaar and going for Umrah and Hajj. But on the other hand we are still enjoying all those things that Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala has made Haraam upon us. We have not understood because we have not seen the physical impact on our Nafs. We don’t see it happening but the Rooh is undergoing stress and pain. And the effect of this, we will see in our A’amaal.

Hazrat Thanwi RA mentions : When a person gives his hand to the hand of a Spiritual Guide or a Mentor … Then this road towards Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala becomes so easy … Then when he is caught up in a valley of sins … Then that Shaykh very easily brings him out of that valley … provided that the person is sincere …

We need to tame these Nafs of ours. We need to have it under control. We want our Nafs to be cultured. But we fail to make effort on ourselves. We need to remove this filth that has accumulated in our hearts. Once we do that then we see that Noor penetrates into a persons heart. Now a person becomes wary of the tricks of his Nafs. None of us are such that we don’t commit any sins. We all commit sins. Allah protect us. Allah keep our Izzat. Allah don’t make us slip. We are moving on this tightrope. One slip and we gone …

The Shining Stars ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

The Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum) were the profound and honoured people Allah Ta’ala had chosen. The Noble Qur’an and Ahaadith exemplify the magnificent status of these ‘Shining Stars’. The Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum) gave everything for this beautiful Deen and sacrificed their entire lives for the continuity of Islam. We make Du’a Allah Ta’ala inculcates the love of our Deen in every crevice of our hearts and that the impeccable lives of the Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum) reflect into our lives  … Every person is given the opportunity to be a great person like the Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum), through their hardships and opportunities to succeed. ‘We can’t be them but we can be like them’ …  How could you be like them if you don’t love them? How could you love them if you don’t acquire knowledge about them?

Taking us back to the era of Rasulullah~ Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, it brings alive the rightful ‘Role Models’ who watered the garden of Islam with their blood … In these sincere and detailed discussions, one cannot escape from being engrossed in the experiences of these flag bearers of Islam, who have taught us the true value of our Deen!

……

In an extract taken from Majlis Programme discussing the Sahaba ~  Hadrat Abu Darda RadiAllahu Anhu, Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB explains :

There are those in this world, (Allah Ta’ala protect us) that become consumed, absorbed, engrossed by the embellishments of this world, that they have no time for Allah Ta’ala (Allah Ta’ala protect us) . Then there are those who try to do both, try to make some Ibadat and try to attain some Dunya, but of course many still become heedless of Allah Ta’ala. Then there are those who spend more time in the Ibaadat of Allah Ta’ala whilst acquiring their dunya.

But then … there is one stage above all of these people … they are those people who forsake the world, they renounce the world, they have no love or attachment whatsoever. It is very easy to claim that I have no love for the world but these people opted for a very simple life. They were prepared to eat dry bread, they were prepared to live for days without food whatsoever. Their homes were absolutely simple. Their clothing extremely simple. Their wives were also prepared to make the sacrifice. They got some type of enjoyment. They derived some type of closeness to Allah Ta’ala and pleasure in this simple way of life of theirs ….

Dont be Angry!

We find that it is quite common that people say, I do not have complete control over myself, I lose my temper very quickly, I become angry very easily, I am unable to restrain myself, I get provoked very quickly, I blurt out things which I later regret. At times I become violent, I use my force against those with whom I am angry with. I just erupt. I become enraged and infuriated. I have no control over myself whatsoever. No control over my tongue, my mind. I lose my senses and many a times I have blurted out the word Talaaq to my wife in that state and condition.

The problem of anger is a common problem. Scholars have mentioned it is ‘from the promptings of shaytaan’. The insinuations of shaytaan. The provocations of shaytaan. He incites you. He spurs you on, to lose yourself … to give vent to your anger. A man becomes so infuriated, enraged, he has reached boiling point, like how we have a volcano that erupts and the magma erupts out. Or, we have a pressure cooker and if the heat is not lowered then we find that the lid will burst open and everything will spill and boil over. We do not realise how detrimental this weakness in man is. This illness which is a very common illness.

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam advised a person who came to him and said : “Give me some advice”. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam perhaps knew the condition and the weakness of this particular Sahabi because of his interaction with the others. Or probably He was inspired at the time by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala and He advised him with just one simple word, “Lā taghdab” (Don’t become angry). He asked again for another advice, “Ya Rasulullah~ Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam give me more advice”. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam repeated the same advice, “Lā taghdab” (Don’t become angry). Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam repeated the same advice several times despite this Sahabi asking Him for something different (a new advice). Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam still advised him with the same advice : “Lā taghdab” (Don’t become angry).

In other words you must control yourself when you are prompted to give vent to your anger …

When a person loses himself, his heart rate goes faster, his blood pressure rises, he lose’s his senses, he lose’s his mind … Anger is directly related to shaytaan, the whisperings of shaytaan, the promptings of shaytaan, the incitement from shaytaan. So when man goes beyond the bounds, he exceeds the limits and he does not control and restrain himself, he does not contain himself, but he passes and exceeds the limits, then even his physical form, his facial expression changes. He looks very ugly indeed. We don’t see ourselves becoming angry, others see us. But if a person, when he is enraged, fuming and angry takes a mirror and looks at himself at that time. His face looks terrible …

Yes, man has this quality of becoming angry but this quality of anger has to be channelled in the right place at the right time with the right people. When you are opposing your nafs and desires, your ego’s and passions. That is the time when you should channel your anger, towards your nafs, towards the promptings of shaytaan. A strong person is that person who controls himself when he is angered. Now he is mindful, he is watchful, he thinks before he says or does anything. He has complete control over his anger. He subdues himself. Then he is regarded in Shariat to be a strong person.

The effects of anger is such … We have honey … and everybody says ‘it is as sweet as honey’. The sweetness of honey every one of us has tasted and experienced. But there is a plant known as the aloe plant … when this plant is dipped into honey, the bitterness of this plant spoils the sweetness of that honey entirely. The jar of absolutely sweet honey that you had disappears immediately when that aloe plant is mixed with that honey. That aloe plant is absolutely bitter. Rasulullah~ Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam has given us this analogy, and He says that, ‘Anger spoils a persons Imaan’ just like how the aloe plant destroys the sweetness of that honey. Look at the effects of Anger!

Therefore Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam has said, ‘Anger is from shaytaan’. When one of you becomes angry, He says, ‘shaytaan has been created from fire and fire is extinguished by water.’ So when one of you becomes angry what is the Ilaaj (remedy)? He must make whudu and he must cool himself down. One Hadith says if the person is standing, he must sit down, if he is sitting he must lie down …

The Benefits of a person who suppresses his Anger …

~ Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala will remove ‘His’ anger away from this person on the day of Qiyamah.

~ Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala will fill his heart with peace, tranquility, serenity and Imaan.

~ Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’aala will call him in front of the entire mankind of the day of Qiyamah and Allah will give him the choice of Hoor-al-Ayn that he wishes in the hereafter.

Let us suppress and control ourselves….

Illahi Gunehgaar Bandah Hu Me

Listen Here

Oh Allah! I am filled with sins. Oh Allah! I’m a wicked person. I’m a cruel person. I’m an evil person. I’ve got no piety in me. There’s nothing right about me …

And we all have this feeling. Again and again. How often a person says that ‘I need to make Islaah of myself’. I’m trying. I just want to change my life. I want to come out of this filthy life of mines. Day and night I’m sinning. Committing zinaa, casting lustful glances. My tongue, I’m only speaking lies, I’m cheating, I’m deceiving the people. I can feel I’m trapped in world of Ghufflat (Heedlessness) and filth and evil. I’m looking for some escape, some exit from here …

I’ve got no strength to refrain from sins. I’m so weak. And I don’t even have the strength, I don’t even have the courage, to do righteous deeds. This is my condition.

Oh Allah! If it is Your intention Ya Allah! Ya Allah if it is Your will. Ya Allah! You are Kareem! The One who gives so much and is so Generous and the recipients of those bounties don’t even deserve those things. You and I get so much from Allah. We don’t deserve getting those Ni’mats (bounties) from Allah. Allah still gives. “We don’t deserve this”. Allah still gives us these favors. Oh Allah! If it is Your Iraada (intention), then even with the bat of an eyelid, one wink of our eyes, Oh Allah! You can forgive us. This Bandah (servant), La’eem (wicked), wicked, cruel, evil, filthy …

Ya Allah! From Your unseen sources, Ya Allah! Ghayb (unseen). Ya Allah! You create the means for this sinful servant of Yours. Ya Allah! To stay away and refrain from sin. I’m tempted all the time. When I go to my office and there are those pretty faces around me, as much as I am trying, I am getting caught in those pretty faces again and again …

Oh Allah! If it is Your help, Your assistance with me. If Your Nusrat (assistance) is with me, then what fear do I then have of nafs and shaytaan. When Allah is with us, then we’ve got that strength. That nafs and shaytaan which is trying desperately to pin us down, subdue us. And in this wrestling match with nafs all the time. When Allah’s help comes then we are victorious. There is nothing to fear then …

Oh Allah! I am Your Bandah (servant). Only by name. I’ve got a muslim name. A believers name. I am Abdullah, Abdur-Rahmaan. Servant of Allah. Servant of Rahmaan. Ya Allah! Just name only. Ya Allah! Out of Your Karam, Your help, Your favour, Your kindness, make me of some benefit, make me useful in life …

Oh Allah! This fickle-mindedness. A person is not constant. Sometimes he is very hot-headed, shouting at everybody. And sometime you see him opposite. Or he loses himself very easily with his family, but in front of his friends he’s like a sheep. Ya Allah! With your help and assistance, you give me this resoluteness Ya Allah! To change this type of Mizaaj (temperament) of mines …

 بِسْــــــــــــــــــمِ اَللّهُِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم

Audio Version

We need to make the Zikr of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala constantly and develop in our hearts this Ta’aluq (connection) with Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala. The connection with Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala becomes weak very easily when we don’t remember Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala

Allah says “Faz-kuruni az-kurkum” “You remember Me ~ I am remembering you ~ I will always remember you”

But, when we don’t make Zikr of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala, then we are cutting of this connection we have with Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala, and that is going to be detrimental for ourselves …

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in a hadith has mentioned a du’aa ~

“O Allah! … Open the locks of our hearts through Your Remembrance”

The hearts that we have, the spiritual hearts, have locks and to open these locks, one needs to make the Zikr of Allah Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala. The moment a person makes the Zikr of Allah whether he says, SubhaanAllah سبحان الله … Alhumdulilah الحمد لله … La ilaha illallah لا إله إلا الله … Allah-hu-Akbar الله أكبر … then these locks now become open …

For any key that we have, the key has teeth and when this key is put into any lock, the teeth of this key has to match that of the lock, then and only then, the lock of the door will open. The Zikr that we are making is the ‘Key to open the locks of our Heart. The teeth of this key (of this Zikr) are Khushoo (concentration) and Khuzoo (humility). To make Zikr of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala with dedication, concentration, devotion, your mind has to be focused on Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala

How often we make Istighfar, Astaghfirullah … Astaghfirullah … Astaghfirullah أأستغفر الله‎ with no feeling, no dedication, no devotion whatsoever. We are not even pondering over what we are saying! We are making Istighfar and we are seeking the pardon of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala, the forgiveness of Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala Rabia Basri RA used to say, ‘The manner in which we make Istighfar, we require to make lots of Istighfar for that type of Istighfar that we make’. In other words, we are not making Istighfar properly. When we make Istighfar we are asking Allah to conceal our sins. We are asking Allah to forgive us …

And then, a person should ponder over the sins he is committing or has committed. And as he is making this Istighfar, he must ponder and reflect over the Ghunnah (sins) he has made and he should feel this Nadaamat (remorse) in his heart. He should feel this regret and remorse in his heart. He should feel ashamed of having committed that sin. And now he is making a promise to Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala that he is not going to resort to that sin and he is seeking Allah, or Allah’s forgiveness. He wants to wash away from his heart that sin …

When we say ‘SubhaanAllah’ we must really feel and believe and understand and ponder and reflect over the meanings of SubhaanAllah!

Allah Subhanahu-Wa-Ta’ala is Paak. Allah has no blemish whatsoever! No defects whatsoever! Allah is absolutely Pure! Allah has no shortcomings! Allah has no deficiencies! Allah is Perfect!

الله أكبر

A Blissful Marriage ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

Audio Version

In essence, we need to remember six things to attain a blissful marriage  … three Do’s and three Dont’s. We have heard many talks on Nikaah, but here is something that we can reflect and ponder on – The letter ‘A’ … There are many A’s we can add on, but the first ‘A’ which we should all have … Every husband, Every wife … is ‘ALLAH’

If you don’t have Allah in your life, then your life is not going to be a life of bliss and happiness. Forget it! Each one has got a responsibility firstly to Allah. Husband and wife are married yet there is no Salaah in their lives -There is no tilaawat of the Qur’aan – There is no Zikrullah – There is no mention of Allah and His Rasul Sallalahu alaihi wa sallam’s name in their home – How do we expect barakah to come? – How do we expect our wife to fulfill our duties? – How does the wife then expect the husband to fulfill her duties? We have to learn Deen – We have to connect ourselves to Allah – Then and only then will we enjoy our life – Otherwise it will be a life of sin and ghufflat (heedlessness) – Totally oblivious to Allah Subhanahu~Wa~Ta’ala as though He does not exist! – Let us change our conditions – Allah Subhanahu~Wa~Ta’ala will give you that peace, serenity and enjoyment in your life … If you obey Allah Subhanahu~Wa~Ta’ala …

Three Do’s :
‘A’ for Allah ~ Connect to Allah
‘A’ for Akhlaaq ~ Polish our Akhlaaq
‘A’ for Appreciation ~ Do not criticize our spouses / Show Gratitude

Three Dont’s :
‘A’ for Anger ~ Control Your Anger
‘A’ for Abuse ~ Physically/Mental abuse to our spouses
‘A’ for Affairs ~ Illicit Relationships

Du’aa is a Powerful Weapon ~ Moulana Naeem Motala Saheb DB

Du’aa is the most powerful weapon. Yet we turn somewhere else. Or we use that as a last resort. Rasulullah Sallalahu alaihi wa sallam said “Du’aa is ibadat…It is the essence of ibadat”. What is the meaning of ibadat? What is the object of ibadat? Allah Subhanahu~Wa~Ta’ala wants His servants, Allah wants His bondsman, Allah wants you and I. We are the slaves of Allah. To rub our nose, to rub our forehead on the ground. Allah wants us to raise our hands. Allah wants to see from us, what we call in arabic “atta~zallul” where we show that we are absolutely in need of Allah. Allah is the master. We are His slaves. We implore Him. We beg Him. We beseech Him. We ask Him. Allah Subhanahu~Wa~Ta’ala wants us to acknowledge that He is the supreme ruler. He is the King! Everything is in His control, and therefore we should ask Him ‘first’…

Mu`adh ibn Jabal said that the Prophet Sallalaahu Alaihi Wasallam also said: “The People of Paradise will not regret except one thing alone: the hour that passed them by in which they made no Zikr of Allah.”(Bayhaqi-Tabarani)

May Allah keep our tongues moist with the Zikr of Allah … Aameen
