Lessons from Hadith Shareef ~ Live in this World as a Traveller (or Wayfarer)

Hadith

It was narrated that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood RA said: “Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam lay down on a reed mat, which left marks on his skin. I said, ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah! If you had commanded us we would have spread out for you a softer bedding.’Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said, ‘What is there between myself and the world? This world and I are just like a rider who stops to rest beneath the shade of a tree then departs and leaves it behind.’” [Sunan Ibn Majah]
Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “By Allah, this world in comparison to the Hereafter is nothing but like one of you who dips his finger in the sea and removes it. So ponder how much (of sea water), does the finger return with.” [Mishkaat]
Hazrat Jabir bin ‘Abdillah (RA) said that Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam once passed by the marketplace, passing from the area of al-’Aliyah, while people were all around him. He then passed by a dead goat, whose ears were extremely small. He then took it by the ear, saying, “Who amongst you would like to have this (dead goat with small ears) for just a dirham?” They said, “By Allah! Even if it was alive, its small ears will be a deficiency, so how about when it is dead?” Rasulullalah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said, “By Allah! The dunya is even less significant in the Sight of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala than this is to you.” [ Muslim]

 …

Important aspects discussed in this Hadith :

 • Simplicity

 • Not attaching ourselves and filling our hearts with the love of the world

 • We have come into this transitory world, taking some shade for a few days and then we depart from this world and continue our journey to the Hereafter, without taking anything of this Dunya with us….

• Do not amass wealth. It makes one negligent of the Aakhirah …

• Wealth should be Halaal and used in avenues that take one closer to Allah Ta’ala … (Halaal wealth in the hands of a pious person is very beneficial because it will be used for good causes)

DOWNLOAD EXPLANATION HERE ~ 10 MINS

We are permitted to make use of the necessities of Dunya (what we require for daily life), but we have to ensure that our ship does not sail into the ocean of the Dunya. This heart of ours must NOT become submerged in the ‘love of this world’ or else it will sink…. As long as the ship is afloat … it will reach its destination …

May Allah Taala help us to detach ourselves from the love of this world and bring simplicity in our lives …

Rasulullaah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam said: ‘Whenever any of you eats, let him mention the name of Allah Subhaanahu waTa’ala. If he forgets to mention the name of Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta’ala at the beginning, let him say “Bismillahi awwalahu wa akhirahu.”~ Abu Dawud and al-Timidhi

“I was a young boy under the care of Rasulullaah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam. Barakah ~ Its True meaning ~ How it is Acquired ~ What Destroys it?

May 6, 2013

bismillahh

Every single day, every person equally gets full 24 hours of the day, regardless of status, profession, age (young, old), rich or poor …. but ‘Barakah’ seems to have vanished !

In our minds, the word ‘Barakah’ means plentiful … However, the real and true meaning of Barakah is, that a person, even though having little possessions (in quantity), it still suffices all his needs. Normally it would have required the person to have much more in his possession to be able to fulfill those particular needs.

Why does one not enjoy the Barakah?

The simple reason is the fact that Allah Ta’ala has deprived him of Barakah. So despite having alot (abundant wealth or time), it does not suffice all his needs. This is simply because he has disobeyed Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala. Allah Ta’ala, therefore snatches away the ‘Barakah’ from him … Sins obliterate that Barakah …

How can we acquire and attain this Barakah?

The moment a person begins to obey Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala and makes Taubah (Istighfaar), Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta’ala will grant him Barakah in his sustenance, Barakah in his time, Barakah in his business, and Barakah in all works of life … Allah will help one to refrain from sins and fill his life with Barakah …

One ‘La ilaaha illAllah’ …

Through Zikrullah, the Zaakir (one taking the name of Allah)

reaches the Mazkoor (his Beloved Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta`aala)

~

Oh my Allah! My shoulders have become so heavy because there are

‘mountains of sins’ that I am carrying on them …

But, Oh my Allah with the blessings and power of your Zikr …

with just ‘one’ La ilaaha illAllah …

all those weighty mountains of sins will just vanish and disappear

… they will be washed away by the Noor of your Zikr and Mercy.

~

When a person recites La ilaaha illAllah …

then there is no barrier between him and

the Arsh of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta`ala.

This La ilaaha illAllah reaches the Arsh of Allah immediately …

and then Noor descends from there and penetrates into the heart.

When that Noor comes gushing into our souls,

all the filth that has clogged and accumulated in our souls

will be washed away …

~

This Kalimah ‘La ilaaha illAllah’ that we are carrying in our our hearts,

is a great treasure given to us by Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta`aala.

The 3 Signs of ‘Sharhus Sadr’ ~ Opening of the Heart, to be able to Perceive, Understand and Accept the Truth

April 17, 2013

bismillahh

Hazrat Ibn Mas’ood (Radiallahu Anhu) narrates
that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) recited the following Aayat :

فَمَن يُرِدِ ٱللَّهُ أَن يَهْدِيَهُۥ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُۥ لِلْإِسْلَٰمِ

Those whom Allah (in His plan) willeth to guide,- He openeth their breast to Islam ~ Surah Al-’An`am 6:125

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) then said:
“When Noor enters the breast, it (the breast) expands.” Someone asked: “O Rasulullah! Is there a sign for this?” Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Yes. He saves himself from this abode of deception (the world); he inclines towards the everlasting abode (AKHIRAH) and he makes preparations for the everlasting abode before the arrival of death. ‘ (Baihaqi)

The 3 Signs of Sharhus Sadr :

When Noor is thrust into a persons heart; his spiritual heart expands, to take in the Light of Allah Subhaanahu Wa Ta`ala. Three signs indicate that a person is receiving such Noor and is being guided by Allah >

1. To detach oneself and remain aloof from this deceptive world…

Do not become beguiled by the love of this world and its short-lived promises.

2. To show a longing and a yearning for the perpetual abode of Aakhirat.

3. Preparing for Maut (death) before it comes…

The person who suppresses his desires and he prepares for the hereafter is intelligent and the person who disobeys Allah and follows his desires is a fool.

The Importance of the Two Rakaats Sunnah of Fajr Salaah

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ

And for part of the night also praise thou Him, – and at the retreat of the stars! At-Tur (52:49)

2 SUNNAT-E-MUA’KADDAH OF FAJR SALAAH :

• It is extremely virtuous to pray the two rakaats Sunnah- e-Mua’kaddah ie. before the two Fard rakaats of Fajr Salaat

• Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam would pray them lightly (meaning he would not lengthen them)

• It is Sunnah to recite Surah al-Kafiroon in the first rakaah and Surah al-Ikhlaas in the second rakaah of the Fajr Sunnah prayers

HADITH PERTAINING TO THE SUNNAH OF FAJR SALAAH :

Hazrat A’isha RA relates that the Rasulullaah Sallallaahu alyhi Wasallam said, “The two Rakaats of (the Sunnah of) Fajr are better than the world and all it contains.” [Muslim]

Hazrat  Abu Hurairah RA reported: Rasulullaah Sallallaahu alyhi Wasallam recited in the two Sunnah Rakaah of the Fajr prayer, Surah Al-Kafirun (in the first Rakaah), and Surah Al-Ikhlas (in the second Rakaah) ~Muslim

Hazrat Abu Hurayra RA narrates that Rasulullaah Sallallaahu alyhi Wasallam said, “Do not abandon the sunnah rakaats of Fajr, even if horses trample over you.” (Sunan Abu Dawud 1:186, Athar al-Sunan 1:224)

`Tamanna-e Haram  ~ Desire to be in Madinah

Poetry of Hazrat Mufti Muhammad Shafee’ SB (RA)

Hazrat (RA)  says :

`This desire and longing to be in Madinah …

`How I wish that I could be a dweller (a citizen) of Madinah Munawwarah …

`All the time, day and night, on my lips, is the Durood and Salaam upon Nabi Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam …

___

`The Kalimah ‘La ilaaha illallah’ is a shield (protection) of my life and when the time comes for me to leave this world, this Kalimah must be (the words) on my tongue …

`What a great fortune it is to make Sajdah (Salaat) in the Mehraab of Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam …

`Suddenly I see the Raudha Mubaarak in front of me and then proceed to stand before the Muwaajah-e-Shareef (The Raudha Mubaarak/Blessed Grave of Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam) …

`And with feeling, with enjoyment, I am saying the Durood and Salaam … engrossed and consumed …

___

`The scene and sight of every other person standing there …

Saying “As salaatu Wassalaamu alaika Ya Rasulallaah”

`What a beautiful scene!

___

`I wish to be living in the city of Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam …

`In Madinah, which is a Riyaadul Jannah (Garden from Jannah), should be my place of residence …

`That person that Rasulullah Sallallaahu alayhi Wasallam says “He is my Ghulaam (my Ummati, my true follower)”, then the fire of Jahannam most certainly becomes Haraam for that person. …

True `Ushaaq (True Lovers) of Allah Ta’ala and Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam

When a person has true `Ishq (love) for someone, then that love pulls him towards the house of the lover. Anything about the beloved, any sound, any news, will catch his eye and he will immediately want to listen to it.

When one has the desire to be close to Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam, then a yearning to be standing at the Raudah Mubaruk, sending Durood and Salaam upon Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam and a longing to be a dweller of Madinah Munawwarah resides in one’s heart. One’s heart will be attached to Madinah, even though one is situated far away from Madinah.

May Allah Ta’ala make us True `Ushaaq (True Lovers) of Himself and Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam

 إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍۢ شَكُورٍۢ

Verily in this are Signs for every (soul that is) patiently constant and grateful ~ Surah Saba 34:19

There are two roads for a believer to reach Allah, ie : Sabr and Shukr >

The road of Sabr is quite difficult and challenging, and although we all have to experience some Sabr in our life, we should desire that Allah Ta’ala make us reach Him through the road of Shukr (by being blessed with the countless favours of Allah Ta’ala and then truly appreciating these bounties and being loyal, sincere, obedient servants of Allah Ta’ala).

We will be tested on the road of Sabr,  and due to our weak Imaan, we may not be able to exercise Sabr over the tests and trials that we will be faced with … Hence, the journey through that road becomes daunting.

However, both roads of Sabr and Shukr bring about great blessings and reward for the believer.

Both these roads lead to Allah Ta’ala …

…

Our Beloved Rasulullaah Sallallaahu alyhi Wasallam said:

“How wonderful is the affair of the believer, for his affairs are all good, and this applies to no one else but the believer. If some good happens to him, he is thankful for it and that is good for him. If some harm afflicts him, he bears it with patience and that is good for him.”  (Muslim Shareef)

And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: “My Lord! bestow on them thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.” ~Surah Al-Isra 17:24

“Tell the believing men and women to lower their gazes and protect their private parts. That is purer for them.” (Surah-An-Noor 24:30)

Allah Ta’ala has declared in a Hadeeth Qudsi, “Verily the lustful glance is a poisonous arrow from the arrows of shaytan. Whoever leaves the casting of lustful glances out of My fear, I will give him in return such Iman, the sweetness of which he will taste and feel in his heart.” (Kanz-ul-’Ummaal Vol. 5 pg. 328)
